It’s that time again – Our 16th annual Fashions for Evergreens contest is underway! Voting is Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, December 12.
Fashions For Evergreens 2021
This much-anticipated tree decorating contest fills our foyer and entrance area with trees that are decorated at a designer level by local businesses and organizations.
“We’ve loved being able to host this event for 16 years and seeing how it’s grown,” says Teresa Hughes, Director of Sales and Marketing at The Inn. “It’s so fun to see designers come back year after year and watch their creations just get better and better.”
The designers’ hard work does not go unnoticed by the public. Thousands of people come to view the trees in person each year and they receive more than 20,000 views on Facebook. Many families have even made the competition part of their family traditions by taking yearly photos in the foyer. This is an incredibly popular event that we are proud to sponsor each year.
To make the contest even more interactive, everyone has the opportunity to vote on their favorite evergreen after walking through using a QR code while at the hotel. Can’t make it to see the trees live? No big deal! You can also vote for your favorite on social media. There are also professional judges who cast their votes as well.
“We’re thankful for the designers that make the holidays come to life at The Inn,” says Isaac Rife, Marketing Manager and Fashions for Evergreens Coordinator. “By having multiple ways to vote and promoting the competition on our social media, we’re able to offer extra exposure to the designers’ business or organization.”
This year, 15 trees are available for public viewing and voting from Thursday, November 25 through Sunday, December 12. Winners will be announced during a special awards ceremony for designers. The trees will be on display through Sunday, January 2.
Our foyer’s creatively designed trees present awe-inspiring decorating ideas in an extraordinary display. After you take in all of the dazzling trees, be sure to cast a vote for your favorite.

We have compiled some helpful tips on how to plan an unforgettable event that will keep your team motivated and excited about finishing 2021 and starting 2022.
Even in today’s technologically advanced world, a meeting with your team face-to-face far outweighs a video conference. While utilizing technological advancements is a wonderful solution for those who may be unable to attend an event, it’s not a replacement for in-person gatherings.
Getting your team together in-person will benefit your staff and improve your bottom line. Here are a few reasons why.
The fall semester is in full swing at Virginia Tech, and there are many opportunities for students, parents, faculty, and staff to get involved with upcoming events on and around campus.
Just because summer has flown by and it’s time to settle back into the school routine, that doesn’t mean life has to get mundane. From Hokie football games to a good old-fashioned jamboree, here are a few not-to-miss activities to get to know the area, and make some new friends along the way.
After a year of Zoom meetings and hybrid events, your team may be ready to get back together for full in-person events, or maybe you’re already there. If you’re in the throes of planning your next corporate meeting, you may want to kick start the conference with some excitement and laughter to really warm things up.
We recommend starting it off with a fun and interactive corporate meeting ice breaker!
What do birthday parties, weddings, and corporate meetings have in common? They are all events that require a venue. Sometimes you can host these events in your home, at the local library, or your corporate offices, but when you need something different, how do you choose the best venue?
